‘DeÄŸiÅŸ TokuÅŸ’ is a visual project in which photographers produce works in lieu of each other and for one another in their cities
without any travels in between. It is also a research on the applicability of an artistic and intellectual exchange/interchange during the pandemic when physical interactions are lesser and travel restrictions are in application. ‘DeÄŸiÅŸ TokuÅŸ’ took place from May till November 2021 and 6 duos, i.e 12 artists from Ä°zmir, Diyarbakır, Mardin and Åžanlıurfa carried out collective projects.
As part of ‘DeÄŸiÅŸ TokuÅŸ’, academics and researchers from different backgrounds such as economics, international relations, and culture
gave talks on the concept of exchange/interchange open to the public; tailor made seminars were organized for participating artists
and one-on-one editing/mentoring sessions were run with the artist duos. This website showcases projects produced by the artists
and texts written by the academics and researchers within ‘DeÄŸiÅŸ TokuÅŸ’.
‘DeÄŸiÅŸ TokuÅŸ’ is realized by Lütfü Ä°rdem from Diyarbakır, GAPO from Ä°stanbul and No 238 from Ä°zmir; with support from Spaces of Culture;
with participations of Meltem ÅžendaÄŸ, Aslı IÄŸsız, Eda YiÄŸit, Elif Kahraman and Ä°pek Çınar as lecturers and writers; with contributions of Saliha Yavuz, Cemre YeÅŸil and Sinem DiÅŸli who conducted the seminars; and with the works produced by the artists Nilay UluÄŸ & Åževda TuÄŸrul, AyÅŸegül Kaycı & Ä°mran Atasal, Fatma Çelik & Merve Güçlütürk, Aynur TıkıroÄŸlu & Hicret Ayaz Ä°pek, Aylin Kızıl & Eyhan Çelik and Aslıhan Güçlü & Mehmet Ali Kılıç.
